Our story

Yong Fa Specialist Electrical has spent over six decades on one kind of work: the electrical units that start and charge heavy machinery — three generations of the same family trade, serving marine, industrial and heavy-equipment customers across Singapore and the region. Repair, rewinding, knurling and welding all happen under one roof, so a unit is restored and load-tested end-to-end instead of being split across several suppliers.

Our history

From a roadside stall near the old Sungei Road Thieves Market to a family name in the auto parts trade — since 1959 we've kept going, even when the neighbourhood around us kept changing.

1959
Where it all began
A small roadside store on the road traders called Kang Ah Kee, in the Sungei Road area — just steps from the famous Thieves Market — selling starters and alternators to the local trade. The road is long gone now.
1961
Our first shop
Government redevelopment reshaped the area, and we moved into our first proper shophouse at 76 Jalan Besar.
1983
The Sam Leong Road years
Redevelopment caught up with us a second time and 76 Jalan Besar made way for new plans. We relocated to 11 Sam Leong Road and spent the next three decades there, building relationships with customers old and new.
2013
A new chapter
An en-bloc redevelopment brought one more move — this time just down the road, to 8 Sam Leong Road, where you'll find us today.
