We ship starter motors, alternators and components from our stock in Singapore to customers anywhere in the world. There is no country we will not quote for — tell us where you are and we will work it out with you.
Parts supply only. Repair, overhaul, rewinding and testing are carried out at our Singapore workshop, and we do not offer a repair service outside Singapore. If you are overseas and your unit has failed, what we can send you is a part, not a repair.
Most of our stock is new, unused old stock, which is often exactly what suits an older engine whose original part is no longer made. Where a unit is reconditioned rather than new, it says so on that product's page.
How to order
- STEP 1Find the partSearch the catalogue by the number stamped on the unit — a partial number works. If you cannot find it, send us a photo of the nameplate.
- STEP 2Send an enquiryWhatsApp, email or the enquiry form, with the part number, the quantity, and your delivery country and city.
- STEP 3We quotePrice, availability and shipping are quoted per order — there are no prices on the site and no online checkout, here or in Singapore.
- STEP 4We agree shipping and paymentWe agree the shipping and the payment with you, then despatch from Singapore.
What we need from you
- ▪ The part number from the unit's nameplate — a photo of the plate is fastest and most reliable.
- ▪ The engine or machine make and model, so we can sanity-check the fit.
- ▪ Quantity, and whether you need one unit or are buying for stock.
- ▪ Delivery country and city, and whether you have a preferred courier or freight forwarder.
- ▪ Your company name and contact number, including the country code.
Shipping and payment
We ship to any country. We have sent parts to customers across Asia and beyond, and we do not keep a list of countries we refuse.
Shipping is arranged order by order. We are not tied to one courier or one freight forwarder. Depending on the size and weight of the part, where it is going and how fast you need it, we will use whatever route suits the shipment — and if you already have a forwarder or a courier account you prefer to use, tell us and we will work to it.
Payment is discussed with you, per order. We are flexible, and we would rather agree something workable with you than publish one rigid set of terms that suits nobody. Send the enquiry first; the payment arrangement is settled along with the quote.
Freight cost, the route and the payment arrangement are all confirmed in writing with your quote before anything is despatched.
What we cannot do overseas
- ✓ No repair service outside Singapore. We do not repair, overhaul, rewind or test units anywhere but our Singapore workshop.
- ✓ No on-site attendance overseas. We do not send technicians abroad.
- ✓ No fitting or installation. We supply the part; fitting is yours or your workshop's.
- ✓ No prices online. Every order is quoted.
If you can get the unit to Singapore — many vessels and machines pass through anyway — repair and overhaul are available here in the normal way.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship to my country?
Yes. We ship worldwide from Singapore and we do not have a list of countries we will not send to. Tell us your country and city in your enquiry and we will quote the part and the freight together.
Which courier do you use?
Whichever suits the shipment. We are not tied to one courier or forwarder, so the route is chosen per order based on the size and weight of the part, the destination and how quickly you need it. If you have your own forwarder or courier account, we will use that instead.
How do I pay?
Payment is discussed with you when we quote. We are flexible on the arrangement, so send the enquiry with the part number and the destination, and we will settle the payment side together with the price.
How much is shipping?
It depends on the weight and size of the unit and where it is going, so we quote the freight with the part rather than publishing a rate. A starter motor and a large marine alternator are very different parcels.
How do I know the part will fit?
Work from the number on the unit's nameplate rather than the machine model. A starter fits an engine, not a machine — the same engine can sit in an excavator, a genset and a boat, and take the same starter in all three. Send us the nameplate photo plus the engine make and model, and we will check before you commit.
Are the parts new or used?
Most of our stock is new, unused old stock. Where a unit is reconditioned, it is marked as such on its product page.
How long have you been doing this?
Yong Fa has been supplying and repairing starters and alternators in Singapore since 1959, and was incorporated in 1992. Overseas customers have found us mostly by word of mouth; the catalogue is now online so you can search it yourself.
